Plan for Minimum Wage Confirmed
At the 5th Central Struggle Committee on 16 April, RENGO has confirmed the concrete plan for the Minimum Wage in the Spring Struggle for a Better Life 98.

1. Guidelines for Regional Minimum Wages

  1. Concrete demand
Each local RENGO sets up own figures of demand, based on the previous result of local RENGOs in March, and those figures are to be beyond total RENGO results for higher wages.
  2. Final Conclusion by the Central Deliberative Council for Wages Standard
    1. Assuming that the Survey of Wages Revision Status by the Ministry of Labour be finalized as the base for standard on 10 July, RENGO requests the Sub-Committee for Minimum Wages to prepare and send representatives of all ranks to the crucial 3rd Sub-Committee for Wages Standard on 21 July.
    2. The Central Rally decided to leave the Final Conclusion by the Central Deliberative Council for Wages Standard, closely cooperating with the Committee Members from the employees side, entirely to the judgment by the representatives of all ranks and the Department of Working Conditions of RENGO.

2. Guidelines for Industrial Minimum Wages

  1. Concrete demand
Toward the better revision of industrial minimum wages in 1998, RENGO affiliated unions and local RENGOs prepare for the concrete request of the higher industrial minimum wages upon the independent decision-making and operation.
  2. In case of application for a Fair Competition Case, industrial federations and local industrial federations, which are under the struggle in revising the legal industrial minimum wages, are encouraged to attach explanatory documents.
