RENGO Opens Liaison Offices with the 3 Diet Opposition Parties
Realize Important Issues at the 145th Ordinary Diet Session

From January 26 to 28 RENGO requested that the Democratic Party of Japan, Social Democratic Party and Komeito carry out important RENGO policies in the Ordinary Diet Sessions. RENGO and the three opposition parties agreed to establish liaison offices for handling Diet activities mutually and in close cooperation.

1st Search-For-Happiness Art Exhibition
Okemori's "May Window" Gets Grand Prix

The Institute of Labor Education and Culture (ILEC) sponsored the "1st Search-For-Happiness Art Exhibition" held from January 13 - 18. On January 15, an award ceremony was held at the Exhibition Gallery in the Tokyo Metropolitan Theater to honor Mr. Okemori, winner of the ILEC Grand Prix. This exhibition was unique in that it was open to all workers and their families. Greeted favorably, it drew 617 entries for the drawing division and 908 for the photography division. 138 winning drawings and photographs were exhibited at the gallery and a total of 1,500 people including entrants and their families came to enjoy the works.

Labor Union Assigned to Cooperate with Community
Volunteers Exchange Rally

On January 27, RENGO and the Institute of Labor Education and Culture held "the 2nd National Volunteers Exchange Rally" at Sohyo Kaikan in Tokyo. Approximately 300 people gathered from constituent organizations, local RENGO and supporting civic groups making the event a significant chance to consider the problems of future voluntary activities.
