RENGO Statement and Responses to the Iraq Problem
(10 March 2003)
Regarding the destruction of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, RENGO served a petition seeking a peaceful solution through international cooperation to the U.S. Embassy in Japan and the Japanese Foreign Ministry. Further, we changed the name of the “2003 Spring Struggle 3.1 Central Pep Rally” to “3.1 Central Pep Rally to Protect Citizen’s Lives and World Peace.” As the level of tension for conditions surrounding the Iraq problem have intensified, RENGO endorsed its “Statement on the Iraq Problem” and response in order to seek a peaceful, UN-based solution at its 20th Central Executive Committee Meeting held on March 6.
