RENGO has protested against the unlawful arrest of Felix Anthony, President of ITUC-AP.

On June 27th, Felix Anthony, President of International Trade Union Confederation-Asia Pacific (ITUC-AP), and National Secretary of Fiji Trade Union Congress (FTUC) was arrested by police for the alleged breach of the Public Order Act in Fiji. He was released on bail on 28th but is still under investigation as a suspect by police.

We, JTUC-RENGO, has protested against the unjust intervention to trade unions by Fijian government, by sending a protest letter to Prime Minister Bainimarama requesting; to drop all charges against Mr. Felix Anthony, to refrain from anti-union practices, and to ensure the workers full rights of freedom of association in Fiji.
